Pied-à-terre

Perched above Sydney Harbour, this apartment has been reimagined as a refined pied-à-terre, enhancing its generous proportions and remarkable views. A reworked layout introduces a clearer sense of arrival and improved flow, complemented by bespoke elements including a sculptural fireplace and tailored joinery. Layered with the clients’ collection of art and antiques gathered from homes around the world, the result is a warm, elegant interior that reflects a life well travelled in a more intimate city setting.

Location: Sydney, Australia

Photographer: Anson Smart

“It’s repurposing and recycling on a grand and elegant scale, resulting in a home that resonates equally with the owners and designers.”

“From rugs to lights, this project is peppered with the products of that partnership, layers of memories that have found a new home and are revealed in a fresh light.”
